Phase Compensation Techniques for Low-Power Operational Amplifiers
نویسندگان
چکیده
An operational amplifier is one of the key functional blocks and is widely used in analog and mixed-signal circuits. For lowpower consumption, many techniques such as class AB and slew-rate enhancement have been proposed. Although phase compensation is related to power consumption, it has not been clearly discussed from the viewpoint of the power consumption. In this paper, the conventional and the improved Miller compensations and the phase compensation by introducing a new zero are dicussed for low-power operational amplifiers. key words: low-power, operational amplifier (opamp), phasecompensation

A Robust Feedforward Compensation Scheme for Multistage Operational Transconductance Amplifiers With No Miller Capacitors
A multistage operational transconductance amplifier with a feedforward compensation scheme which does not use Miller capacitors is introduced. The compensation scheme uses the positive phase shift of left-half-plane (LHP) zeroes caused by the feedforward path to cancel the negative phase shift of poles to achieve a good phase margin. A two-stage path increases further the low frequency gain whi...
متن کاملActive-Feedback Frequency-Compensation Technique for Low-Power Multistage Amplifiers
An active-feedback frequency-compensation (AFFC) technique for low-power operational amplifiers is presented in this paper. With an active-feedback mechanism, a high-speed block separates the low-frequency high-gain path and high-frequency signal path such that high gain and wide bandwidth can be achieved simultaneously in the AFFC amplifier. The gain stage in the active-feedback network also r...

— This paper presents a novel compensation technique for low voltage low power three-stage amplifier driving large capacitive loads. The frequency bandwidth of this amplifier is improved due to usage of dual-active buffers in the efficient compensation network while a feed forward transconductance helps to enhance output large signal response. The paper provides a design procedure by developing...

This el The operational amplifiers are the primary blocks of most of the analog systems and mixed-signal integrated circuits. In most electronic devices, ripple noise in supply line is unavoidable. Hence a robust noise performance at high frequencies is required. This performance regarding the stability of OPAMP improves with help of frequency compensation techniques. The different compensation...
متن کاملThree-stage Nested Miller Low-Voltage Amplifier
This report presents a low voltage, Nested Miller Compensation (NMC) topology. It consists of two non-inverting amplifiers for the first two stages and an inverting amplifier for the output stage. Two miller capacitors are used for stability of the circuit. This design is attractive in a way that it is a straight forward circuit without any complexity while achieving a high gain, high unity gai...
